ORIGINAL "ESCAPE TO THE OCEAN" Framed Painting 81 x 55cm
An original painting inspired by the sea. This artwork was created to capture the deep turquoise colour palette from the ocean, near water is where I personally feel most relaxed, and this piece is a personal and public reminder that we all need to take a step back and admire what the world has to offer in its beautiful natural state.
Whilst producing this painting I added textural paste to extenuate the crashing waves which resulted in a stunning 3D effect. Bronze and Champagne Acrylic Gilding Enamel Paint was used to generate a touch of elegance that a glistening wave in the sun would naturally produce.
I handcrafted the frame to custom fit the 3.6cm box canvas, used a router on the inner edge and sunk the canvas down to create a shadowing edge - complete with hand painting it white and finishing with a hard-wearing satin varnish
With all my paintings they are finished with a professional strong hold permanent varnish to seal and protect the piece from dirt, dust and UV damage. Despite this, it is still recommended to resist handling the piece and to avoid hanging in direct sunlight.
